Beginner Starter Kit — 3 Species Bundle

Three beginner-friendly carnivorous plants in one kit: Venus Flytrap, Cape Sundew, and Nepenthes ventricosa.

Description

The perfect introduction to India’s most fascinating plants — this curated 3-species bundle gives the beginner everything needed to start a thriving carnivorous plant collection on a windowsill, no greenhouse required.

What you get: One Dionaea muscipula (Venus Flytrap), one Drosera capensis (Cape Sundew), and one Nepenthes ventricosa (Pitcher Plant). Each plant is chosen for its forgiving nature and dramatic appearance.

All three species share the same basic care regime: pure water only (distilled, RO, or rainwater), no fertiliser, bright indirect light, and high ambient humidity. Together in a group they create a stunning display while maintaining the same simple care routine.

Dionaea muscipula — the iconic snap trap, bred in tissue culture. Arrives actively trapping. Needs at least 4 hours of direct sun and a cool winter dormancy period.

Drosera capensis — the Cape Sundew, arguably the easiest carnivorous plant on earth. Glistening sticky tentacles trap and digest fungus gnats and fruit flies with quiet efficiency. Self-seeds and propagates from leaf cuttings.

Nepenthes ventricosa — a robust highland pitcher plant that adapts well to Indian home humidity. Produces large red-speckled pitchers that fill with digestive fluid and trap insects. No terrarium needed.

Plants are dispatched in 9 cm nursery pots in appropriate media (peat-perlite for Dionaea and Drosera; chunky sphagnum bark mix for Nepenthes). Pack with moss cushioning to survive courier transit.

Includes a care card with genus-specific watering, light, and dormancy guidance. Ideal as a gift or first purchase.
