Description

Nepenthes rafflesiana — Pink form, Large (L) specimen. This selected clone of the iconic Raffles' Pitcher Plant develops pitchers with a distinctive pink to soft rose colouration across the lower pitcher body and peristome (rim), quite different from the more common red-spotted or white forms. The Pink form retains the characteristic rafflesiana pitcher architecture — wide-bellied lower pitchers with a prominent peristome and elegant upper pitchers on the climbing vine — but with a softer, more pastel colour palette.

🌿 About this plant

In high light, the pink intensifies to a warm coral-rose. In lower light, it shifts toward a peach-cream. The contrast between the pink pitcher body and the distinctly darker peristome ribbing creates a striking visual pattern unique to this form.

Vigour: N. rafflesiana is among the most robust and adaptable lowland Nepenthes. This Large specimen is well-established with multiple active pitchers, ready to grow on immediately without the slow establishment phase of smaller plants.

• ☀️ Light: Moderate to high indirect light or direct morning sun. Higher light intensifies the pink colouration — one of the most light-responsive colour forms in the rafflesiana range.
• 💧 Water: Distilled or RO water. Tray-watering or top-watering. Keep medium consistently moist. Tolerates wetter conditions than many Nepenthes due to its swamp-edge ecology.
• 🌫️ Humidity: 70–90% RH. Well-suited to coastal India. Inland, a humidity tent or regular misting around (not on) the pitchers is beneficial.
• 🌡️ Temperature: 25–36 °C. True lowland — thrives in Indian tropical conditions. Not suitable for sustained temperatures below 18 °C.
• 🪴 Medium: Long-fibre sphagnum or a 2:1 sphagnum-perlite mix. Fast-growing — will need repotting every 18 months into a progressively larger container as the vine establishes and climbs.

Orders are packed in batches alongside live lab work; typical processing time is 2–6 weeks depending on the plant and the season. We pause dispatch during peak monsoon (December–January). Every plant is a unique living specimen — the one you receive will vary slightly from the photographs.
